Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

on a day to day basis - my role involves conversing with a broker to get their submission in, then overseeing a risk and carrying out an assessment to see if it something that the business would be prepared to insure. From there I will underwrite the policy from start to finish
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy my programme a lot. I tend to be rather busy, but this is good as it forces ou to manage your time well. I would say that the load of work is fair. The study is also relatively accessible too with most work being online. There is just some physical revision to do.

Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

I would say my programme is quite structured. With my company the structure is great and I am mostly in control of how this goes. My education provider is somewhat difficult to contact but overall I have had to take the education part into my own hands and make sure I do it myself.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I recieve support from my employer. My manager checks in on me to make sure that I am comfortable with my workload and if there is anything I need assistance on. I also speak daily with mentors within my team to refer tasks and questions too to make sure that I can progress efficiently
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Not a great deal in all honesty. I have maybe spoken to them once or twice in the time I have been here (6 months) and it is very difficult to schedule in meetings as replies can take days. None the less. I just have to make sure that I take it into my own hands so that I dont get behind
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I believe that the qualification is good in the sense that it provides the basics of the insurance industry and the regulatory things that I need to know. It is very generalised which could be good and bad. It is good as it may open me up to wider connections in the future.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

As far as I am aware, there are not any extra curricular activities through my work. I do manage to socialise with my team whether it be on video chat or going out for lunch or some drinks. Again, I feel that is one of those things where if you don't make it work, it wont

Would you recommend RSA Group to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I am third generation of RSA within my family and I can see why my family have stuck with the company throughout their lives. They are great company to work for that do care about the individual, not just the big picture. You do feel to be actually valued at RSA.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to RSA Group?
I would just say be yourself. It is a job that is social and interactive. If that isn't you, don't pretend to be. The staff are all lovely so there is no reason to hind your individualities as that is what makes you stand out. Take pride in yourself and that will shine through as personality.
