Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Design team engineer for city energy solutions which involves the design of substations and energy centres and coming up with energy centre running strategies for optimal performance
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
It is very good with a lot of different opportunities with the ability to find something that suits you, and lots of great learning experiences

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Yes, learned to use several CAD software packages, and modelling software, learned my first coding and have had chances to use mathematical skills for real world problems

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
I am the first person on the programme for my particular role, so it is not the most organised yet but everyone on the company is there to help and teach you, and the structure had improved as time has gone along.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I receive a great deal of support from my employer, everyone is willing to help and this support is for studies, future in the company and any other problems I may have
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
A lot, there are weekly sessions to talk to tutors and they can always be contacted if help is needed, and there are plenty of resources to help as well
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
It helps to a good extent, it helps shape your mindset for the job role but the training is more varied and broad than the job role so it will not always perfectly align but skills and information can always be extracted and applied
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
There are plenty of networks to join that hold events that are free for anyone to go to, there is something for everyone, no official sports teams but people have set up their own work teams
