Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I am a risk IT consultant apprentice for WTW where I work on mainly python scripts and Unify which is an enterprise-wide systems integration, automation and governance platform designed specifically to serve the insurance industry. As I am still fairly new, I have been going through different training courses which involves scripting and general training.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I really enjoy my apprenticeship so far. Everyone is extremely friendly and the environment is extremely relaxed. I am able to do various types of work to increase my skills and develop myself. However I haven't stated the actual studying process with the university yet, as I am still new.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learnt a decent amount so far as I am still new. Through the training courses I have been able to add to my scripting skills and the usage of Unify which is an enterprise-wide systems integration, automation and governance platform designed specifically to serve the insurance industry. I'm definitely sure I will develop my skills throughout this apprenticeship the more I get into different projects.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
The programme is structured extremely well. As I am working hybrid, I have the option to work from home or the office. I regularly have catch-up meetings with my bosses which allows me to constantly understand where I am in terms of my work and what I need to do to better myself. In regard to the actual university I can't say much as I haven't started it yet.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
The support from my employer is absolutely great. I regularly have catch-up meetings with my bosses which allows me to constantly understand where I am in terms of my work and what I need to do to better myself. If I ever have any questions or concerns I am able to email or message whoever I need and they get back to me really quickly.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
As I haven't started studying from the training provider I can't say much about this topic. But from what I have heard from other apprentices at WTW or study under the same training provider, they say it is fairly good. There are some little issues but overall the support is good.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
The qualification and the different topics I will learn with the training provider will massively help me when it comes to performing better in my role, as I will be able to use the programming languages that I learn in the scripting that I do at work. So it know that it will help a lot.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
At WTW, there are a lot of social, sports and networking events that take place throughout the year. It allows apprentices to grow their network. At WTW there is also a football match that will soon take place where apprentices, seniors and everyone can take part which helps a lot.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend WTW to a friend?
Yes
Why?
WTW is an extremely great place to work. It has a very friendly, relaxed and professional atmosphere. Apprentices are able to do a range of activities which will allow them to increase their skillset and develop themselves. You are given the option to work from both your home and the office which is great.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to WTW?
Apply as soon as you can and really prepare for your interviews and ensure you have good examples where you have applied important skills in your life. Be yourself and make sure you do research about the company, the role you applied for and why you want to pursue that particular apprenticeship.
