Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My role consists of working with commercial clients where we manage their insurance policies. Our clients at WTW come from a broad range of industries such as motor, construction and hospitality. My day to day job involves sending/answering queries to insurers and clients and completing renewals to support out client with their cover.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

It's quite interesting with the broad range of clients we work with and their different types of needs they have. A lot of the people I work/met with are willing to help and answer any queries I have which is great. I also enjoy the opportunity of training sessions which are both online and in person.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have developed my skills in a lot of Microsoft programs such as outlook, teams, word and excel. I have also increased my skills in teamwork and communication as I regularly work with colleagues, insurers and clients to complete renewals. Most importantly I have developed the skills of understanding the insurance industry and doing renewals.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The programme structure is good as my working hours are 5 days a week 9 - 5. However some of the apprenticeship side of things can be slightly confusing however support is usually available.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I have received a lot of support from everyone particularly my manager who is always there to answer questions and organises training sessions to aid my development.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I receive an adequate amount of support from the training provider as we receive a couple of study sessions for the exams we are working towards passing however most of the learning is independent by using the book provided and using the wide range of online resources which are very helpful.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

There are a lot of parts in the content of the exams we study/sit which are very useful into understanding the insurance market and products however some of the content can be quite mundane by just studying it and actually doing it practically usually will be best and useful in the role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are networking events to meet other apprentices and my manager has organised a few trips to other offices to train and get to know other teams. There are occasionally teams lunches such as Xmas parties.

Yes
Why?
They give you a good amount of support and the company in general has very good values.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to WTW?
Definitely be prepared to learn a lot as for most it's a new industry that you will be working in. Also when you are applying, try to think of scenarios in school/work where you showed good teamwork, responsibility and communication as this is important in the role.
