Summer Placement Participant Review

Each day, we were given a clear structure of our day and the different talks that we could attend. Then we would usually have to complete an activity such as a group task or a written task. There were frequent breaks between sessions to research our project and speak to our trainee buddies.

The placement was really helpful as it gave a real insight into the tasks that trainees undertake and also what is expected from a trainee. The Graduate Recruitment team also provided us with a lot of information regarding the roles available and how the final Assessment Centre would take place.

I developed my presentation skills, especially through presenting virtually which taught me new skills. I also developed my time management skills as we had a lot to do each day so I organised my days well to ensure I completed everything on time.

I felt that the atmosphere was very open. Everyone I spoke to was friendly and happy to answer my questions. The trainees were happy to schedule time in their diary to speak to us and help us with our projects. Overall, it was a place I could see myself fitting in well with the rest of the team.

I really enjoyed the Summer Placement. I learnt a lot more about the firm than what you can see on the website and felt that I got a great insight into what it is really like to work there.
