Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Summary of day-to-day tasks: Resolving Ticket and service requests. Creating logic reports and data exchanges. Building and configuring depots in our system. Processing payments. Configuring laptops and pc's on our system. Creating, amending, and transferring user accounts on our system.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

The topics are interesting. However, work/apprenticeship balance can be difficult to maintain.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Skills that I have learned. Time management. Sending formal emails. Logic and code writing.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

It's well-rounded. We have weekly seminars about the topics. But at the start of the course, there was a bit of miscommunication on the project requirements.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

There are some topics that are translated with my role which has allowed me to assist my team. But there are other topics that don't relate with my job role and therefore cannot be applied.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

When I started the company took the new starters and I to an overnight stay where we did activities. This was a really good way to get to know everyone. The company also has an SBF event once a year were you can pick an activity to do.

Why?
I've been in the business approaching 2 years and my experience has been really good. I work with really good people, there can be challenging days but its part of the working experience.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Howdens?
Be yourself. Be open and honest. Ask questions.
