Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Property Management - We are the managing agent for our client, the landlord, and carry out all the dealings with the building on their behalf. This can be tenant and/or building related. No two tasks are identical and you can be working from budgets to tenant queries, arranging events to reviewing leases.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
There is a great balance of work, social and study time. I have greatly enjoyed all aspects of the program so far.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
A variety of skills are developed in this role as it is known as the 'jack of all trades' job within property, experience has and will be gained in many departments. Law, accounting, english and maths, people skills, etc.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
Very well structured. My study day is flexible, it can be moved around if need be. When there are deadlines at uni, this is understood and encouraged to prioritise.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
If work loads are getting heavy, they accommodate and a real team effort is made to ensure it is still manageable. In terms of uni work, everyone is happy to help you revise and give advise when needed.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
Every few months we are checked up on to make sure we are on track and happy. Timelines are provided to help you plan ahead and give you enough notice, allowing you to work out if plans need moving to accommodate for assignments or revision etc.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
The course helps strengthen your knowledge in areas. Uni has helped with my understanding of law and is relevant to my day job so that has been beneficial.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Lots to choose from. Plenty of networking events, in and out the office. The main thing outside of work at Savills is the sports, netball and rugby are popular.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Savills to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Friendly almost family like environment and culture. Helpful and positive teams across the board. No one is alone and there's tonnes to get involved with.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Savills?
From my experience, research and know what field you want to apply for and own it. Try not to apply for everything in the hopes you'll land something, because although this could work it may come across as if you're just trying to get lucky. Know your worth and show why you know you're right for that role and why you can add value.
