Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I work with people on the hebburn site. I help solve issues related to incidents like oil spills, crane operations, loading operations, the paint shop, down to a out of date chocolate bar in a vending machine. I am involved with biodiversity on our site, preparing for the bees coming.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I thoroughly enjoy my programme, I have not reached a challenge so far I haven't enjoyed, I may have struggled but with a supportive team, I have always wanted to continue and do better.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have developed my communication skills, by talking to many people and understanding what they need as well as getting across what we need form them.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

It is hard to be organised when things change everyday, but I use my planner to keep track of my tasks and to list them of importance. My team has group tasks as well as individuals, we keep track of that monthly and important ones we keep track of weekly.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

We have growth talks every week, where we discuss how the week has went and how we are going to plan for next week. My employer is always around if we need to talk, whether it is about work or personal life my employer is willing to talk.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I have only been in touch with my training provider twice so far, however both times he has been very informative.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I think by completing some of the qualification I have developed knowledge that I will need in my future as a EHS advisor, and if I continue to get a higher qualification I would need it then as well. I think work I am learning in person with my employer is teaching me more about my role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

We have a NextUk where the apprentices get together and go out, so we all know each other. There are also a football team people can get involved in. Our company has Christmas and summer parties where everyone can attend.

Would you recommend Siemens to a friend?

Why?
Siemens is a great place to work and it is because there are so many opportunities for people to get into, you don't just learn about your apprenticeship you can learn about other peoples. Everyone is so welcoming and if you want to people are willing to take the time to teach you about what they do.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Siemens?
Be confident, and show off what you are good at. No matter what it is art, sports, languages, English or maths there is a role for everyone and what makes you different may make you the best candidate. Be yourself, there is no point trying to be like everyone else, they need difference, new people to be the future of Siemens. Siemens can not grow if everything and everyone stays the same.
