Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

i'm an apprentice Teaching Assistant, and my main duties include doing interventions and planning activities for SEN children, helping the class teacher with live marking work and assisting any children who ask for help. i also prepare the class for lessons (sticking work sheets in books, tidying the classroom, etc).
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

i have really loved the program so far! i have loved working with children in a supportive environment alongside other teachers. this apprenticeship has helped me realize what i want to do for work (work in primary school).

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

my confidence and communication skills have vastly improved. my time management and organization skills are much better now. i've also learnt how to assist special needs children.

i am involved in helping with two after school clubs (art club and science club). this involves planning activities alongside another teacher for these clubs, preparing resources and sometimes helping in the clubs after school.
