Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I am an administrative assistant in the school doing a business administration apprenticeship. I am working in the office and learning how to use the different systems to log and retrieve personal information as well as answering any emails, phone calls or face to face queries parents, staff or outside agencies may have.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I have found it very informative without it being too overwhelming. I am able to find a good balance between my work load, home life and completing the apprenticeship course without having to compromise any areas in my life. It has taught me a lot of very useful tools that I can implement into my day to day job.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have been on various on line courses to gain knowledge of safeguarding, prevent, negligence. As well as attending online work shops to ensure I am capable in areas such as communication, time keeping and knowing policies, regulations and the law. I have also had the opportunity to decelope my IT skills.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
I have found it to be very structured but also can be tailored around my work and home life. They always give me ample time when booking workshops or mentoring sessions and are able to be flexible if I am unable to attend at that time. They deliver very informative and interesting workshops with plenty of support and help if needed
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
The school I work for have been very supportive. They agreed the amount or time I would need off to complete the coursework and if for any reason they need me to work those afternoons, I am given the time back in the same week or just after. They go through all my tasks and give me tasks I can use as evidence in my portfolio.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
They have been very supportive. I am able to call or email at any time and will receive a response within 48 hours later to discuss any problems or go through any tasks I am struggling with. They are in contact with the my work placement and are up to date with my progress.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
I feel it will give me the tools and skills to progress in the workplace I am currently in and also if I chose to move on to another administrative position outside the education sector I would be able to use my skills and experience to work confidently. It has given me a lot of skills, not just in the office environment but when talking face to face with people.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
As I work in a school, we don't have many occasions where I can get involved in extra curricular activities. We always have an end of term or half term meal which I have attended regularly. We also have training days and team building activities which I've been asked to attend.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Inspire ATA Ltd. to a friend?
Yes
Why?
They have been very supportive and have delivered a very indepth and informative course. I am in contact with my mentor weekly, who will talk me through anything I am unsure about. They have pushed and challenged me to really try and do my best without me feeling overwhelmed and disheartened. They make sure my mental health is in a good place.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Inspire ATA Ltd.?
When starting an apprenticeship course with them make sure you have a laptop or ipad, most of the apprenticeship is on line, including the exams. Setting them up can be a bit stressful at times but they do help. Make notes during the workshops as there is a lot of information to take in.
