Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My day to day involves dealing with my clients needs, this can include drafting documents, getting quotes from insurers or having call with different people to obtain the best solution for their request. I'm also involved in other voluntary programmes offered by the company where I get to work on attracting future talent. All of this as well as my apprenticeship work/study.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I very much enjoy the programme. I think it is well planned so when we finish it we can be insurance professionals. I feel supported by my team, my mentor and my skills coach and i would like to think if I was not enjoying my time here All these people would support me.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learn a lot about the corporate environment i.e how to speak to clients for example. I'm also learning a lot about the insurance itself and about the engineering industry as my department focuses on construction clients. I'm also learning French thanks to the company putting on classes for my team as are client is French.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The programme is very well structure. I like how with the first few exams we have to take we have workshops and then when it comes to the last ones when we start to gain more responsibility work wise they let us study by ourselves without lessons at strict hours.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

My employer supports me 100% I feel like. I feel very lucky with both my team and my department. They are always willing to help and advise me when I am not sure on something. The apprenticeship team and the early careers team are also very supportive, it has never been a issue to contact them when needed.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

The training provider provides lessons for the first few exams and a skills coach with has regular conversations with you in order to make sure everything in on track. My tutor for the last few exams has always been very helpful and flexible, so if I could attend a workshop she would fit in extra one on one calls.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

My qualification helps me perform better because it teaches us about all the basics that we have to know about insurance. The most relevant part is the language used in insurance which when speaking outside of the industry can mean something completely different, so having a book which teaches you all about the meaning in this context is very helpful.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Yes, there are many extra curricular activities including different groups you can join depending on your interest. These groups put events on like pub quizzes, 5k runs, etc. There are also events more directed at engaging with the clients or other third parties we work with to built relationships and network.

Why?
I think Willis towers Watson is a great company to work for with a great work ethic. It has a good work/life balance and is big enough to lead to multiple opportunities like travel and work in different areas of the world. I feel very comfortable at Willis and i feel like I'm growing as a person and as a professional while working here.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to WTW?
Willis Towers Watson like every other major corporate company will expect anyone new joining to be motivated to work and to to the best they can do. So I would recommend to be motivated to learn new things every day, meet new interesting people and enjoy working in a corporate setting.
