Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
In my role I use extrapolation and other various different methods to predict future claims and ultimately advise clients on how much reserves they must retain to be able to comfortably pay these estimated claims for each policy. I often help write reports as well which gives an insight on the company.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I enjoy the programme a lot. The work study balance is very good and easy to keep up with. I also feel I am learning something new everyday and that the work I'm doing is really helping my early development, in addition to getting some more exposure to more difficult tasks which I enjoy as it will set me up nicely for the future.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
WTW has taught me that strong communication is an extremely important attribute to have in my job role. I have developed this skill by attending various different training sessions provided by WTW that have educated me on the best methods of communication and the advantages of it being quick and efficient.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
The programme is very well structured. I get 1 day of study per week which I feel is enough to stay on top of the study. The training sessions implemented at WTW have also been very well organised and I feel I have learnt a lot from them. Furthermore, the tutorials that BPP provide are also very well structured and I feel I am getting a lot out of them. These are monthly.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I receive a lot of support from WTW. I have a role model who I am able to shadow when I am free or feel I need to develop a certain skill, and a buddy who is there for more personal support if I am struggling with a certain task.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
I receive a lot of support from my training provider when working towards my qualification. I have monthly tutorials which go over the content we have learnt individually which is a good way to test my knowledge. I also have a personal BPP coach who replies to my emails very quickly whenever I have a query.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
My qualification helps me perform much better in my role. Part of my qualification is writing up essays on certain aspects of my work such as time management or training. When writing these I develop more of an understanding on how to improve these skills which ultimately improve my efficiency in my job role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
There are extra-curricular activities to get involved in at WTW. There is a 5 a side football team that starts up in the summer which I am very keen to play in. I have also heard of a netball team in some offices as well. They also host regular socials such as pub quizes.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend WTW to a friend?
Yes
Why?
The community here is very welcoming and friendly. They made me feel like part of the team on the first day and were very quick to introduce me to everyone. They prioritise personal development and career growth opportunities are very high so I always feel like I am progressing quickly.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to WTW?
Do your research about the company. Their core values are very important to them and they follow these at all times, so displaying your knowledge of this in interviews will come across very well. Also ask questions in the interview; they like to see that you're interested in the company.
