Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My day to day role originally consisted of shadowing colleagues within the team and having introductions with them all to understand what different parts of the team did. Once I'd been in the team for a bit longer, I was given greater responsibilities and more involvement in talking to our Lines of Businesses (clients) and interacting in support tasks. I am a content manager for our knowledge base portal so am responsible for keeping all information on this clear, accurate and up to date. I am given a Friday to focus soley on my apprenticeship learning, completing tasks, projects and studying for/sitting exams.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I have enjoyed both the social and learning part of my program. It's engaging and covers a wide variety of knowledge and skills, whilst being hands on within a team.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt invaluable communication skills, both through internal communication within the team and external communication with Lines of Businesses. I have developed my presentation skills, being able to confidently give context and present the topic at hand. I have developed my technical skills and continue to show continuous professional development through both my apprenticeship and different training/exams within the company.

My program is well structured, split in half to optimise focus on the coursework and learning aspect before beginning the end point assessment.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

My employer has been supportive throughout everything, from scheduling time and resources to meet knowledge criteria for written projects to support for exams and final assessments. They have also supported me by giving me plenty of time in my work week to focus on my apprenticeship studies.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Firebrand provide lots of resources to help with qualifications, such as practice exams, guided learning/reading to support the content and subject matter experts on hand to answer and queries or concerns.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

My qualification supports my technical knowledge in my role, being able to apply to daily activities within my team and the wider IT industry as well. It also includes core skills for working in a corporate environment and personal development.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

WTW have heavily pushed the importance of extracurricular, specifically our inclusion and diversity networks, hosting calls for things such as women in IT, men as allies, gender equity and neurodiversity eents.
