4.6/5 - Structure and Support

Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
My role involved the setting up and monitoring of our dealer partners who helped us provide finance to our customers. Alongside this, I was also involved in project groups for the wider Sales force e.g. Competitor Data management.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
The program is truly excellent. Working for an organisation who truly cares about its employees whilst studying for a degree which is funded and receiving great support in all aspects makes this program superb.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have learnt various skills which I have split into 'hard' and 'soft' skills:
Hard: Regulation, Sales strategies, Risk management, consumer credit, data analytics, measures and many more
Soft: Communication, developing relationships, people dynamics, working as part of a team, time management and many more

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
Excellent- again can't be faulted.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
You receive support in all areas as and when you need it
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
SHU were extremely supportive both in and out of the classroom. They were always at the other end of an email to help you with assignments, EPA portfolio etc.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
The qualification helps as much as you want it to. People in the organisation don't necessarily reach out to you on how assignments can be implemented in work. However, the carving culture at FRF means you can be proactive and speak to whoever you want to maximise the impact of your studies. FRF let you decide your own journey, so if you want to make an impact, it is on you to drive it.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Culturally, FRF is solid. Their ethos is People-Service-Profit and everything they do backs this up. They do a lot of support with charities, local colleges, work experience, team development, company events and many more

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend First Response Finance Limited to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Great place to work with opportunity carve your own long-term path.
People stick around as they get looked after (particularly in turbulent times i.e. Covid and the current cost of living issues).
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to First Response Finance Limited?
Consider whether your core values match to that of the organisation.
Be prepared to put in the work if you want to progress. The apprenticeship scheme is by no means a golden ticket to higher positions in this business. However, it is a solid foundation to build on.
