Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Rotations across 3 areas of client coverage, supporting coverage bankers and credit analysts on a daily basis. Opportunity to interact with key external clients, and senior staff internally. Work is given both on a daily basis and project basis with enough time to also revise for exams associated with the CISI level 4 investment operations specialist qualification
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
Very enjoyable program due to: company culture, rotations, support systems in place and opportunities. There is always something to do but you are not overworked, you get to rotate through different teams to gain more varied experience. The company, and each team hold events and there are a number of sports and social clubs at the company

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Developing knowledge of professional writing, excel and presentations through courses organised by the company. Developing knowledge of accounting and credit also. Ability to practise and improve networking skills in the office on a daily basis and additionally during events held by the company. Option to also take various financial courses through the companies internal systems.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
We have organised catch ups with early careers staff to check on our progress and we have a buddy and mentor additionally for our support. We rotate 3 times (but we only currently know what two of those rotations are). Overall things are communicated and organised well in advance, such as revision courses
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
Lots of support as we have early careers staff, a manager, a mentor, a buddy , (and we will soon have cross body mentors - to give us exposure to people in different parts of the business). On top of this the company culture is open and welcoming so you can approach anyone for support
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
we receive revision and skills courses and have a dedicated coach. We have regular meetings and discussions with our skills coach who also helps us put together personal a development plan. Managers are generous giving us revision time and members of our team are happy to help with aspects of the revision you may not understand
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
the qualification has overlap into financial services concepts you see when working but it is limited to theory making it less practical. It gives useful background on a range of topics but will not necessarily directly transfer to the practical work tasks you are given by your team and manager
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
There are events and interesting calls organised by teams, departments or the company as a whole. There are also a number of sports and social clubs such as the football club or the running club. Events can include drinks, experiences or festive celebrations like the christmas party thrown each year
