Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
My job role in my current area is completing and prepping all the components needed to help support the line. For example; for CPO6 I clean and prep all the items that are required in the machine, I also setup the Mitutoyo which tests the lengths of the syringes and take samples from the current batch as well.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
For the parts I have been able to attend I really have enjoyed my program, out of bonds was brilliant, meeting other apprentices was very worth while and all the little projects we got involved in were a joy. The only down fall was the covid restrictions which reduced the amount of things and experiences we were able to do.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I believe I have developed the skills I previously gained and also gain new ones. As developing goes, overtime I have been able to tell when to complete a certain task (like setting up the Mitutoyo) at the correct times to help my team succeed. New skills I have gained have come from various techniques people use to complete jobs. For example; Pealing tubs for CPO6, I was shown a faster way of pealing them which in turn made me better at that task.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
I believe we had a proper structure put in place. We knew what the program entailed, what GSK expected from us, how our learning in our job role would work, how the education/college parts would be taught and the objectives that had been set by GSK for us to accomplish.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I received plenty of support for the employer, they have been excellent with me and supporting my goals. The apprentice lead help me when I was struggling with college work and help me set up a plan. Mangers if I've had issues have gone out their way to make sure I'm happy and not struggling and I never felt ashamed to ask them for help because of this.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
Due to COVID I believe they we're given a big task to help us succeed, it was also very difficult learning a task through a computer screen. However they were very helpful and if they believed I could do better they helped me achieve this and also stayed back to help me after lessons were finished.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
I felt like they both fit quite well with one another as you've been given a task you must complete, with a set amount of time, an explanation of how you need to complete the task and how critical it is to make sure you perform to your best.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Yes, we have had social nights out, gathered together for meals, taken time out of work to show the youth what GSK does for humanity, had trips to other GSK's, been on social events (for example; go karting) and we also played in a charity football match in our first year.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend GSK to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Great opportunities, you feel part of a team and there's plenty of different types of roles you can get involved in. I also never feel like I'm not appreciated, everyone wants to help you succeed and If you're suck the support you get to help you get out is brilliant from the staff.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to GSK?
Make plenty of notes so you don't miss a beat. Make sure when you're explain your answer it's to the point and don't drift off down a rabbit hole. If you don't quite understand a question ask if it can be explained in another way or to repeat it.
