Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
As i am in my first year I am at college full time working towards level 2 and some of my level 3 , but when I am in work I work with technicians and help on breakdowns and with maintenance on the manufacturing machines in assembly department.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I really enjoy my apprenticeship so far, I like that I am spending a lot of time at college to start with so that I can gain an understanding of engineering before I start working full time so that when I do go in to work I can do more.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learnt loads of new skills from college and whilst I am at work on the few times I have been in so far, these skills I know will help me in my future in engineering.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
I would like to know more about what my future is going to be like as I've just started my apprenticeship and within the next two months I am going to be going in to work and I don't have an idea what to expect really but I think that I will be having a meeting with my manager to clear this up.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I don't see my manager that often but if I ever have any questions I can always ask my manager and eventually I will get a response and they are always willing to help where they can.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
As I'm in college full time at the moment, I receive all the support i could ever need if not more from my training provider, I am ahead of schedule thanks to my training provider since they are offering lots of support.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
From the few times I have been into work and seen a glimpse of what my job role might entail, I can say that my qualifications will help me perform better in my job role but as I've not been into work that much, my job role might change as there are many different departments which I haven't seen yet.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Yes there is, as I am always get emails about socials taking place and lots of sports events which are usually for charities which I am always getting emails about. I have only ever been to one social on my first week of the job which was fun but haven't been to one since.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend GSK to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Its a very good company to work for as they care about their employees and everyone I have met so far at GSK I have got along well with, and it is pretty good money.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to GSK?
I would say, that when you are in the applying process, you should definitely do a lot of research into GSK and what they do for people, because when I was in my assessment center I did this research and it payed off as I knew what I was applying for and who i would be working for. Also just be yourself.
