Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I manage a team of IT engineers. Each day it is my responsibility to ensure they are proceeding with their assigned work, as well as helping them get support from other areas of the business. I have daily calls with my team and relay the information to my manager so he is aware of the current stage we are working at. I have may documents to stay on top of that track the teams work as well as doing my university work.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I really enjoy working for Vodafone, it is such an inclusive company that really take care of its employees. I have been given so many opportunities to excel in my learning. I really enjoy work everyday, everyone is so kind and welcoming. You are never made to feel like your being left out, everyone at Vodafone listens and supports you when needed.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Since being with Vodafone my communication skills have really improved as I talk to new people every day. My confidence had also been boosted as I am not made to feel like an apprentice and am given the same tasks as other managers within our team. My IT skills have also improved and I am still learning how to use new tools everyday.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
Vodafone is structured really clearly. There are many places you can find the clear layout of the companies structure. The program itself is also very well structured. I work 4 days a week and have 1 day for university work/lectures, having this day ensures that I am able to work on my degree as well as give my all in my job.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
The support I receive from my employer is outstanding, if I ever have any questions there is always someone to answer. My manager always gives support to my assignments if I ever need work based answers. When I joined allocated sessions were given with different jobs within the organisation so I could understand what each role does within the team.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
QA were tough to work with at the start but as we have gone along they have been really helpful with support towards my degree. Everyone is assigned a skills coach that you have regular meetings with to track your progress, discuss results and work on your portfolio. Meetings also happen with your manager so they can see how you are doing with your university work.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
Doing a degree along side working helps me to understand the foundations of things before actually doing them. By learning these this I know how to approach them professionally and work on them properly. This also helps with doing assignments as most of the time things you are writing about you are already doing in your day-to-day job.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
At Vodafone there are so many organised social events you can go to. We went away to the Lake district for team building. There are also spirit days which gives everyone time to self reflect and work on something to help towards individual development. These events allow you to meet new people and network across the whole company.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Vodafone to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Vodafone have really given me an amazing start into my project management future, by giving me the opportunity to manage a team, present in big meetings and voice my opinion when I feel I want to. They are a really caring company that give time for individuals to work on themselves as well as in their job role.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Vodafone?
When applying for Vodafone, be yourself. It is really easy to spot when someone is putting on an act. They want to employ you based on how you are as a person, not just your grades. Be happy and talkative, and do not sit in the background. Be confident and always give your all.
