My work is mostly analytical , spending time ensuring the data for my region is correct. I also work on Python tech project to enhance and create tools in my team
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

University isn’t particularly enjoyable, UoE are very unsupportive. But Bloomberg are great and I really enjoy the program. I’m given great opportunities and I have met great people
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I learnt how to code in python and Sql, I didn’t know how to do either of these before starting Bloomberg. My confidence has also improved massively over the past year
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

Sometimes I’m concerned on the structure of the program in that there’s only two people running the apprenticeship but really there should be more as there are a lot of apprentices
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I have a learning disability and have received so much support from my employer. I’m very close to my line managers and apprenticeship manager and they’re always ensuring I’m okay
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Very little. UoE are rubbish. They have a school like mentality of ‘we’re adults and you’re children’. They don’t listen to us nor do they help when needed
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Honestly, I think this role would have been better suited to a less technical degree such finance as a lot of the modules don’t link to my day to day
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Bloomberg have loads of activities. They have they’re own charity team called BoB and you can sign up to as many as you want, as well as loads of social events

Would you recommend Bloomberg to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Bloomberg generally has a great work environment, I’m always pushed to work harder and encouraged to learn more. The people are great and very supportive and it just a great place to work
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Bloomberg?
They are particular, so make sure you prep fully before the interview. They also are harsh when you start, and that’s because they want to filter out the bad ones firdt.
