Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Property management - determine and manage service charge including liaising with contractors, RFMs, site team etc. Client meetings. Arrears control. Site inspections. Liaising with tenants over proposed alterations to their unit. New lease negotiations.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

It is great, I work 4 days and have 1 university day. The team are aware of my uni day and do not put meetings in to ensure that I can focus on my uni work. It is sometimes difficult to balance work and uni but this is all apprenticeships.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I learn all the time, there is a great support network around me who actively involve me in discussions and are always there should I require assistance or have a query.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

Lots, there is a massive support network and the apprenticeships across the country are encourages to keep in contact too.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

There is support available through forums and webinars and if you miss one you can watch on catch up or request a phone call with your tutor if you do not understand something. It is sometimes difficult when you are behind and you want to ask something but the webinar has already occurred.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I get back up from my qualification for my job and my job helps my qualification so they really work together. I must achieve the degree in order to become a chartered surveyor on the route I have chosen and am working towards.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There is a netball and a football team, I am also working to set up a badminton team. There are lots of professional networking events and our team spend a lot of time together as we all get on which is great - lots of different ages and people that have gone through the same process and shared experiences.

Why?
Savills are a large Company but you do not feel left out or just a number, all people are extremely friendly and there is a massive support network. There is a support group for so many different things e.g. I am part of the socio-economic group. There is loads of training available and every team is extremely welcoming and will explain something to you if required. It is a great Company to be a part of and the fact that there are offices in many different countries is amazing. There is so much experience and knowledge.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Savills?
Ensure that you research the Company and look through all the different job roles available, there are so many different teams - ones you may not have even realised existed! You can then apply for the one you wish. There are also many Instagram profiles which are helpful especially in the graduate or apprenticeship application process.
