Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My day-to-date role involves working on a wide-range of projects, usually large-scale mixed-use or residential schemes. I do a lot of drafting of planning statements, cover-letters, research into various issues as well as supporting senior members of the team in meetings with clients, architects and other specialist consultants.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I have massively enjoyed the program. The Savills graduate support team have been instrumental in this aspect, through organising informal social events as well as formal training days. Both of these have helped with settling in to the company and getting to know other graduates across the offices. Those in my direct team (line-manager etc) have also been supportive throughout my time here.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Yes, when I started I was not familiar with the planning/development field, and now my knowledge and development of skills has increased exponentially. Working side by side with team members, has enabled me to learn directly from professionals with many years of experience. The breadth and depth of knowledge and specialisms within my team is large and so I have had the opportunity to work on different projects, at different scales.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

I cannot fault the organisation of the programme. There is so much support available from everyone within the company. This started at day 1 and it will continue throughout my journey to getting chartered with the RTPI and onwards. We get assigned a mentor to help with this and have many training days and other seminars/videos to further support us.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

As previously mentioned, a lot of support.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

The lectures have been of a mixed quality. However, there are those in the university which you are able to contact should you have specific questions and lecturers are always happy to help too.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Some modules of the taught content have been directly relevant to my role and through doing the assignments readings, I have been able to better understanding some theoretical/practical aspects of the planning system.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
