Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I work as a trainee Team Manager, which involves oversee intake, the pick, and loading. I do Return to Work meetings with colleagues, conduct investigations and pick performance conversations, and I love having this responsibility. Whilst in the warehouse office, I recieve phone calls from suppliers, other departments and staff.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I am absolutely loving my scheme so far. I would say I have a pretty perfect work life balance at the moment. One of the best parts of the scheme is that I have met so many friends at uni in Bradford (as we spend 6-7 block weeks there per year)
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt loads of new skills. At the start of my scheme, I focused on the operational side of things, so learnt lots of new important knowledge about this. I have also developed in my people skills, as I sometimes have difficult conversations with warehouse staff about their attendance, conduct, performance etc.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The structure is spot on. I have work rotas up so 6 months in advance so i can plan my time in the future well. The communication between us apprentices and Early Careers is excellent, and we are constantly being offered training opportunities, extra courses etc. All information we need about our scheme, we have access to through online portals.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I have very helpful and lovely managers at work. The HR department are also always on hand to help with any issues I have. Early Careers are always supportive too. I have scheduled performance reviews with my managers and People manager. There are lots of resources on the MyMorri portal with help guides to do with work.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Bradford University are good with supporting us. After each assignment is published, there are optional Zoom classes set up with the module leader to answer any questions we have on the assignment. All our module leaders answer their emails quickly. The only criticism I have is that some of the assignment briefs seem very ambiguous, but I guess that's just the nature of doing degree level work.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Currently, I haven't seen too many crossovers with the things I learn at uni and my day to day role, but I have been in one section of the warehouse for the past few months, so I am yet to experience properly other areas of the business we learnt about at uni. Nonetheless, I find the uni modules really interesting.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Not too many that I know of, but I have made so many new Morrisons friends at uni that I see each lots outside of work. The HR department put on lots of Charity events, raffles etc. and there was a Christmas night out for all the staff to go to.

Would you recommend Morrisons to a friend?

Why?
So far I've had a great experience on my scheme, and I have loved the responsibility and fulfilment at work, as well as being able to experience the university life and make new friends. It's great that I am getting a degree (fully paid for, including accomodation, transport, food) and earning a decent salary at the same time, so I will be without student debt and set up for the future.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Morrisons?
The application process I remember was very straightforward, and for the interviews and assessment centre, my advice would be to do lots of research about Morrisons beforehand, smile lots during the interview and just be yourself. After I got onto the scheme, I had to keep a close eye on my emails, as there was lots of onboarding information that Morrisons wanted from me.
