Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Caring for people in their own homes providing urgent nursing care to help avoid admission to hospital. Ensuring patients needs are met, providing assessment, planning treatments and interventions. Referring to other members of multi disciplinary team, signposting to other services which may be able to meet needs of the patient.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I am really enjoying the programme. It has provided me with so many positive opportunities and once passed I will be able to work as an advanced clinical practitioner within the national health service. The coaching and teaching/lecturing staff are extremely supportive and knowledgable and are available to provide support

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have completed higher level clinical skills training and non medical prescribing. I have also completed a diploma in caring for patients with heart failure. Have attended various leadership training sessions and have learnt how to lead a team and individuals over the past few years working within the team.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
Very well structured. From the outset there have been clear guidelines and students are aware of the expectations. The staff are all supportive. At times it has felt that some of the modules have been slightly disorganised however I think this is due to staff sickness and things have had to be changed last minute.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I recieve an adequate amount of support, however I do have to actively seek out that support. If I was the sort of person who was less of an doer I may have struggled, however my employer is aware of the type of person I am and always offers support and encourages me to speak to them
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
Lots of support, lectures, tutorials, whether online or face to face are always well prepared. Staff are approachable and are positive and want the students to do well creating open and honest relationships. Lots of opportunities for tutorials, one to ones and extra support if needed. Exam preparation also good
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
It has helped me enormously. My confidence in my skills and ability has increased, and other staff and colleagues have commented on this as a positive. My knowledge has increased, which has had a positive impact on my skills and behaviour when caring for patients. Have become aware of the wider impact of care
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
There are networking events and the health and wellbeing team have links to social activities however this is completely voluntary. Staff from my workplace meet up socially from time to time to mark certain occasions and this is a positive experience in the main part. I am not aware of any sports team.s
