Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

On a day to day basis I am in the the training facility known as the ASK, Where I learn about different areas of the engineering sector in six week placements, working on lots of different machinery and meeting different coaches, managers and tutors on each placement. Each apprentice has a responsibility to work safely and sensible to keep those inside the ASK safe.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy the programme very much and enjoy working in the team of people I was allocated with. There is a range of ages and consequentially, experience so it is good to ask questions and learn from others. It is what I expected and at times the work load can be large, so it is important to stay in touch with peers and help each other where possible.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have leaned lots of new skills, that I wouldn't have learned elsewhere due to the equipment and expertise available in the training facilities.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

Covid slightly delayed, my start date in the ASK, so I was working from home prior to this for around 3 months. I feel like the course is well - structured and I have a good idea of what I need to be doing.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

There are lots of easily accessible support systems in place, however it is up to the individual whether they want to make use of them. When in work you feel welcomed and comfortable to ASK for help when needed.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

once again, the accessibility of support is great and it is easy to keep in touch with line managers. There are only a few tutors and a lot of students so it is sometimes hard to get in contact with college tutors.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I feel that the college work allows you to gain a more in depth understanding of why you are completing the day to day tasks, and why it is important to do things in certain ways and possible consequences of not doing things the way required.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are lots of extra curricular activities available, which is ideal for networking. Its down the the individual to take these opportunities, provided they are keeping on top of the mandatory work.
