Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
A day starts with checking emails followed by meetings with architects and clients about a site we are providing planning advice for. Following this we then write the planning statements in coordination with the architects.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
Learning in a very supportive business of which challenges you is perfect for my style of learning and i encourage others who like being pushed to have a look at apprentice jobs at Savills.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
There are a huge variety of new skills being constantly developed, the most noticeable when you start are:
Verbal and Literal communication
Policy evaluation
Architectural drawing analysis

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
The structure of the apprenticeship is very well planned, regular meetings with the apprenticeship team and mentors help the apprentice voice any opinions. The integrated working between work and university is well structured with one day a week allocated to being a study day allowing the apprentice to complete work.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
Savills provide constant support where needed, it is easy to voice how you feel and the proper support will be sorted very quickly.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
London South Bank University is a very good university and the Planning pathway within the university is taught by very experienced planners from the public, private sector and in some instances a range of more specialized planning backgrounds.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
The apprenticeship is well versed in where you gain knowledge. What i have noticed, is a lot of what i learn from work i take into the class room and this can be the other way round. The apprenticeship will allow you to learn in both environments and transfer the knowledge.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
There are plenty of activities to get involved in. There are always social events, networking events and sporting events taking place all year round. Savills has sporting teams such as a rugby and football team of which train together as teams and compete.
