Commercial Agency - involved in the leasing and letting, sale and purchase of various offices, labs, retail and industrial properties in Oxfordshire.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I think it is really great to be learning whilst you are working. Rather than cramming all the work into one year, dispersing it over two years with the opportunity to ask colleagues questions is really beneficial.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Being a non-cog student I have had the opportunity to learn new skills whilst also developing and enhancing these skills whilst completing the masters whilst I am working. Agency is a skill I had not had exposure to in the past.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

Very well structured - having the day off a week to complete my masters learning as well as the breaks to consolidate your learning and prepare your APC is really useful and without this time off, I could imagine it being very stressful!
How much support do you receive from your employer?

There are various members of the team at Savills who you can reach out to if you have any issues with anything. I have also found that when I am having issues or struggling with a piece of coursework, my colleagues have been extremely helpful with industry knowledge.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Savills have a really great platform to excel and progress with the APC qualifications. There is always someone to help with any queries or struggles and there are various days that are put on for training.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

As I mentioned before learning on the job is a much better way of doing it in my opinion, as everything you are learning is relevant to what you are doing on a day to day to day basis. It makes you think more carefully about the pieces of work you are submitting and how you can utilise what you learn.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

I play for the women's 7s tag rugby team, and am also a part of the Graduate Charity Committee. These are great opportunities to meet like minded people and network within the business

Would you recommend Savills to a friend?
Yes
Why?
It is such an inclusive place to work and everyone no matter what level they are at in the business will be open to having a conversation with you. My involvement as a grad in the various projects going on is far more than that of my fellow graduates coming from different firms, and I believe that is hard to come by.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Savills?
To reach out to Directors, other grads and anyone really in the departments or sectors you are interested in moving into. Getting an insight from someone who actually works there and does it on a day to day basis is completely different to reading a job description online!
