Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
Front of house team leader involves running food, drink, taking ordered and managing the business everyday. Lots of hands on customer experience and assuring the safe and legal and compliance side of the business. I am needed in all aspects of the business. I often accept deliveries and carry out tasks set.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I enjoy the programme because I really like learning and developing my skills. I enjoy the networking side and seeing how other people do things and seeing other peoples experiences. It’s good to reflect on where I was to where I am now. It has been really helpful to me.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learnt about my management styles and leadership skills. Lots of information that helps me decide how to approach situations, and review how to deal with people. Taking time to manage the people in the business better and what we can do to look after our teams and people.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
Could do with improving the communication via email as the work sheets are only set out on certain emails and just being better at organising the visits. It would be nice to have more face to face visits with trainers as the my life is new to me as I haven’t done a course before
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive a lot of support but could do with more however my Gm is also on the same course so it’s hard to ask for help when I feel like it could be similar answers given and I don’t want to be seen as copying the same answers
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I have had lots of online support from [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the Higherin Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] my coach, but it would really help with more face to face visits as I really struggle with the actual uploading of evidence and criteria. I’m not very good with laptops and we have been through everything a couple of times but I learn better by doing it with me
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
I have learnt more about myself as a manager on my team and how I should handle things better. I like to think I’m a good manager but I believe this helps me develop my skills a lot and I really enjoy the skill sets that are given to me
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
There is tap training courses and we do make our own events on site, golden ticket night, pub lockdown quiz and rock n roll bingo, Macmillan funday, pride events, going to skill days, sponsored football match, darts Match for Macmillan. Eurovision night and karaoke, pub quiz every Wednesday. Lots of events on sit3

Yes
Why?
There is lots of reasons to join Greene king, Greene king benefits, staff discount, support from good managers and team. Making new friends and being given new opportunities. Lots of different reasons. Days out, incentives and lots of pay increases. Plenty of opportunities for progression within the company with diffferent managers
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Greene King?
Always get the answers to the questions you want to ask. Make sure you listen to all the information you’re given, work hard and showcase your talent. Lots of people are undervalued if they don’t speak out so if you want something, tell your manager your goal and see it though
