Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
At present, I am gaining experience at different depots. I work alongside technicians servicing, maintaining, and fault finding on the different fleets/components. I am previously at Leeds Traction drive working in the HVAC department, overhauling and servicing the cab HVACs.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I feel blessed and thankful I have entered the programme, especially at such a young age in my career. I enjoy the independence, how I can work under my own initiative and in a team, and how I learn on the job every day.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Because I have been living and working away from home for 9 months now, I have learnt how to live alone at a young age. I have developed my communication skills, and therefore my confidence; presenting myself to the new employees I meet at each depot.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
The programme structure has mirrored my contract. I have had meetings with my line of contacts in advance of any event/change of regime, to answer any questions. I believe the programme has been well organised.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
When/if I need support, I am comfortable and confident to reach out to my employer for guidance. Anything I report to my employer is listened to with the utmost respect and understanding.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I receive a lot of praise and support, when I ask for guidance.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
The five SMO behaviours I was introduced to, at the start of my apprenticeship, have aided me to perfect my professionalism and confidence at work. I use the behaviours every day, outside of work and inside of work, to obtain the best results from my apprentice.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
There are professional networking events I have been invited to attend. There have also been social activities planned outside of working hours, to bring the team closer.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Siemens to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I have wanted to work for Siemens since I was in Secondary School. So far, working with the company has been more than what I expected. I have made a lot of work friendships, memories, and I have become a young adult very quickly.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Siemens?
Whilst working at Siemens Mobility, I have noticed that if you are eager to learn, enjoy problem solving, and you are happy to accept any opportunity which comes your way, you will go far with the company and make the most of your programme.
