Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I am a team leader, it involves opening the pub and completing checks to ensure the business is set up for the day, arranging tasks for the team and telling them their roles for the day. dealing with customer complaints and trying to resolve them. cash management, counting cash on site, banking and receiving of money. ensuring money is secured on site. closing checks to ensure everything has been done to a high standard. closing down of the pub and doing security checks.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I really enjoy working as part of a team, i love working in a company that has such high values and cares about its staff as well as the customers. becoming team leader has met my expectations and i feel values in the job that i am doing, i also find it satisfying daily

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
prior to being team leader, i had no experience in handling cash, checking stock levels, or doing line checks to ensure everything is accurate. i have learnt a lot by doing training on the greene king tap platform, i do regulars courses to ensure my knowledge is up to date. i have learnt that there is a lot required to do the role i am doing

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
I feel that the programme is very well structured, it is all broken down into categories of learning , and there is extra support if you are struggling in one particular area, there is ongoing support to help complete my math and english, including regular virtual classrooms. we get regular meetings with our learning coaches, and they help set out tasks that need to be complete by the next meeting. there is also ongoing support from managers and above
How much support do you receive from your employer?
2/5
i get some support from my manager, however i feel there could be more support, i am meant to under go training within the business to support my course, but i am not getting much training in house. i can always ask my lifetime coach things, but i feel i need to learn a lot more in house. my manager does accommodate when i have courses to do
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
lifetime learning are fab, they are always available if needed, and are very quick to respond to emails or phone calls. the online training is fab, and there are always people available to help if needed. if theres something ive not understood, i am able to speak to them directly for help
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
i have already learnt alot more about the business. i feel more confident when i am duty manager and feel i am better at resolving things. ive learnt alot more about team management and how to resolve conflicts between them. and i am learning new things daily as i work through my modules
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
1/5
we dont have any out of work actvities or soical events. i feel it would be beneficial to the team, but it is not something that is in place at out business, we lower down in the hierarchy dont tend to hear about events in the company , so i feel this is not good.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Greene King to a friend?
Yes
Why?
greene king strive in progression, there are so many apprenticeships that they have to offer, so i feel i could confidently referee a friend.i feel the support from lifetime is second to none, just need the managers to get on board and further support their empolyees with their training
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Greene King?
the application process is simple, it usually a case of hand in a cv and be invited to an interview, if successful you will usually be invited in for a trial shift to see how you work with the rest of the team. there is then training on the tap platform that needs to be completed before starting, its a good process and helps you to be ready for starting. i would like to have been told that on busy occasions its not always possible for breaks to be taken, this is something ive learnt and started taking y own food to eat as and when
