Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the virtual experience and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
Wonderful programme that really gave into depth exposure not only to ER but to Equities and IB as well as how they interact with each other. Structured amazingly, included work shadowing and interacting with numerous people from all the seniority levels. We worked in small groups, so we had much more exposure and opportunities to ask questions. Moreover, the exercises really helped understand how it would be to actually do the job. Overall - fantastic experience!
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
Not sure I understand the question correctly.
It was wonderful! We were introduced to all the business areas and I now have a clear understanding of the available opportunities.

Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
Yes, definitely! Learnt how to look at the financial statements of companies and analyze them; gained more knowledge about selling and pitching stocks skills; learnt how to read the Financial Times and how to relate the information to the financial industry; developed presenting skills and many more. Moreover, now I have a clear understanding of what the role of Equity Researcher implies and what skills I should develop further to become successful at this role.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Super friendly! When the programme was ending it already felt like a family call. Everyone was very open, ready to explain and help. Jefferies' entrepreneurial and flat culture, where everyone is being values felt clearly.

To what extent did you enjoy the virtual experience?
To all 100%! A lot of new information and skills, a lot of new interesting amazing and intelligent people and a wonderful structure and atmosphere! Exceeded expectations, would do it again if I could and recommend it to everyone!

Be yourself, prepare questions, research the company and the news connected to the industry.
And be confident, network with peers, and enjoy the spring week!
The company is amazing and senior people there are very accessible, hence the flat structure. There you will gain a lot more exposure responsibility in your work than in most of the other places.
