Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I move placements every 6 months, in my current placement I spend my time supporting a director speaking to people at all levels of the business. One of my main objectives is well-being and thinking of new ways to implement this across the programme.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I really enjoy the programme, everyone I talk to and meet always has the time to talk and is willing to help and support me. I love being able to move around the business and gain knowledge in different areas.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
My confidence has grown massively due to my placement and things which we do as part of early careers. Doing my CIPS study has also allowed me to gain knowledge of supply chain and procurement.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
Very well organised, we have monthly one to ones and 12 weekly reviews to see how I am and how my skills & behaviours are progressing.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I always know who to talk to if I need any help or support whether that be my line manager, placement manager, skills coach. I talk to an early careers member every month to see how I am feeling and if there is any other support I need.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
For every module we on average have two workshops, one to begin our learning and another a month before the exam as a revision workshop. There is an e-learning portal too which is provided by CIPS with extra learning resources.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
My CIPS training provides me with the basic knowledge and skills behind my apprenticeship, however working in a niche sector with unique processes it isn’t directly related to the business.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Yes, STRETCH projects are something I am involved in, I took part in an Eco-Poppy project going into schools explaining the meaning behind the poppy and then making them with the children. I am also part of the Higher Apprentice Council which is a long term Stretch activity for me.
