Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
In my role as an apprentice designer at BAE Systems, i use foran to model and design different areas of the submarines. As i am a mechanical apprenice designer this mainly based around pipes and their supports. An example of one task i did was to was to change a support for pipe so make it work properly.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
I agree with the question as I do enjoy my apprenticeship with BAE. I find the work the work that is given to me good because i can use the skills i learnt in training and implement them to help me complete the work. the people i work are all good as well as they can all help me if i need help which makes the programme more enjoyable.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
One new skill i have definitely gained since the start of my apprenticeship is how to use the computer software's that i have used to complete tasks that i have been given. i have developed multiple existing skills have like team working skills, time management and punctuality and i have also develop a better work ethic.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
I think the programme i am doing well structures and is organised fine. This is because i have received all the training I am needed to have for all the placement i have been on. I also feel all the support i could need are all available to me if i were to need it.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
3/5
I think if i was to need any support from my employer for me then i would be able to receive the support that I would. I feel like the accessibility of support is also good because i would know where to go to receive any support that i may need.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
My training provider is the college for the qualifications i'm doing and I think the amount of support from college alright. This is because i think if i was to ask for support i would receive because the general attitude towards supporting me is good and i think they would do a good enough quality of support.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
I think the stuff I learnt while completing my qualifications have helped me perform better when performing tasks in my role as an apprentice designer. I think this is because it has helped me gained a greater understanding of the job role as a designer and the industry of the company.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
Yes there are extra-curricular activities that i could get involved in. One being the out bound trip i went on. this was the week where you went with some other apprentices where you did numerous activities, which was useful as it helped develop useful skills that could be used at work.
