Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
The first year of the apprenticeship consists of off the job training this involves passing many EASA exams and essays this can be challenging but due to the good quality instructors which massively assist in the passing of exams. There is a small on aircraft practical stage of doing some work on actual aircraft. You also do a workshop phase where you work with different metals.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
The apprenticeship is very enjoyable but there are moments when it is quite hard due to the shear quantity of the exams and the speed at which exams are have to be done. The communication from the other parts of the company that make it hard to have an understanding of whats happening overall.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I learnt many skills such as simple ones such as how to revise and also how to shape and combine metals and adding fasteners to the metal. I also learnt many skills on how to work on the aircraft including torqueing up fasteners and how to wire lock parts together
