Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
On a day-to-day basis the job role consists of working within a team and creating designs such as drawings and model based work for the product.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I enjoy the programme more than I thought I would. You are able to get involved with different actives and groups during the apprenticeship, which help provide you with more experiences develop new skills further

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I gained many new skills with using different CAD software and understanding the product, as well as the company in further depth. I have developed my confidence and peoples skills by taking part in extra circular activities and working within many different teams across the business

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
Overall the programme is structured well but could do with some slight improvements in places with organisation and clear information being provided in enough time. The educational provider has been poor at providing the appropriate learning required and to a good standard (however, this is not BAE's fault)
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
You are able to receive a great amount of support from the employer. They are able to provide support internally and externally when needed. You are frequently asked and reminded who you can go to with concerns or questions.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
2/5
Pre-covid, the training provider was great. But since returning to complete HNC year 2, it has been poor. With lack of teachers and support. Some lessons there has been no teachers to even teach
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
2/5
The qualification has had little impact on my particular job role, it has helped slightly with the use of CAD as I had no experience with this prior. However, most of my learning/knowledge has been gained from in work, with different mentors and placements
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
There are many extra-curricular activities to be involved with such as the Local Apprentice Council, LGBTQ+ community, Mental Health Champions etc. These can all be achieved day-to-day and do not usually require your out of work time
