Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
My role involves talking to both the client and insurer. I assist the yearly renewal process for a number of different clients and ensure that it is on time and quality work. I also am responsible for my own studies and working towards obtaining professional qualifications to complete the apprenticeship.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I enjoy the programme very much, I think it is perfectly suited for school/college leavers and provides an overall interesting and rewarding experience right from the very beginning. It is well structured and has a time sensitive but not pressurising timeline to complete the programme which is good because it helps me as the apprentice to understand the process.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have developed existing skills further such as working to deadlines/time management. I have developed this as the renewal process insists on progress to be made by deadlines which means that I have had to develop my time management. I have also developed new skills such as insurance broking techniques which I use day to day.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
The programme is well structured as it provides a clear and manageable progression through the process without putting too much on the apprentices plate at one time. It is well organised in the sense of how both studies and work related activities are easily fit into the day to day experience.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive more than sufficient support from my employer. There is always someone to ask for support and even employees who are not part of the apprentice programme make themselves available to offer support which is extremely helpful. Not to mention the support received from the individual tutor that i was allocated.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
My training provider creates workshops that help a group of apprentices study towards qualifications and really understand the content. These workshops are information packed and very informative and provide the apprentice with a better understanding of the knowledge from the book. They also provide study and revision methods to help the apprentice in passing exams.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
I feel that my qualification helps me perform better in my job role as the content of both are directly applicable. I learn things through the qualification that i later find myself reinforcing in practical in my role. Being able to learn the same thing in both theory (qualification) and practical (Job role) is very helpful.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
There are a range of activities to get involved in either with the organisation as a whole or internal team events. There are a lot of charity runs available for the organisation as well as social networking events to attend. Internally there are both informal and formal social events to take part in for team building and networking benefits.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend WTW to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I would recommend Willis to a friend as i think that the apprenticeship programme overall is perfectly designed for success! In addition to this it helps build good skills for a work place and offers many routes to go down once qualification has been achieved. Because of the amount and opportunity and options for a career it presents I would recommend to a friend.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to WTW?
I would advise to others to be themselves. It is essential that they get to see who you are and connect with you in order for you to catch the eye of an interviewer. It is also important to be well spoken and to present yourself in a professional tidy manner.
