Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My role is to lead and manage the shifts, help employees to work effectively and ensure they know what they are doing. I also have to count the tills and the safe and monitor the takings for the day, as well as securing and locking the business, as well as setting the alarm.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I really enjoy the programme, the trainer [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the Higherin Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] is a great help and always only a phone call away. He goes the extra mile to offer assistance and always is understanding. The programme is really informative and easy to follow, as well as being very relatable to my work environment.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I’ve learnt leaderships styles, different management skills, as well as how to run a shift effectively, and motivating the team. I’ve also learnt when different leadership styles should be introduced in different situations. I’ve learnt a lot of transferable skills to my work environment, such as equality and diversity, different legislation necessary to be followed.

How well organised/structured is your programme?

My programme is really well organised, it is easy to follow and clear, due to the fact it’s organised into sections. How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive a lot of support from my employer, they always put me on passive hours to complete my online sessions with [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the Higherin Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions]. They also fund my apprenticeship, and liase with my mentor [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the Higherin Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions], to ensure I am progressing well, and how I can further my knowledge by taking on more responsibility in work.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I receive lots of support and am always offered extra help, as well as more phone calls, and email to help if I don’t understand. There are also lots of platforms in the programme to help give more informations as well as the virtual classrooms, which help me to understand modules.

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Yes there are plenty of activities to get involved in, such as sports awards and trips to stadiums, events such as Macmillan fundraising, social activities such as cook offs and team meetings, there are also lots of sports games to help promote and advertise which you can take part in organising.

Why?
They are really helpful, motivating and supportive, we have many platforms to support us such as kingdom. Not only this but they also are very inclusive and make everything very accessible and easy to use, for example Rotas are available on kingdom app, where you can view your schedule and book holidays.
