Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
In my role at WTW, I assist the brokers by producing the slips that are required for accounts and get these finalised and produce them to the Markets via the Electronic Placing Platform. I also produce contract changes and help our team with the billing of the premium.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
The programme has been great so far. The training provider do a good job of delivering workshops online via Teams and I have passed both modules sat so far first time.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have developed my writing vocabulary further as I am emailing markets on a regular basis using Insurance terminology which I did not know about before starting at WTW.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
The programme is very organised. You have monthly meeting with your Skills Development Tutor who is on hand to assist at all times if you need anything. The tutors who are delivering the workshops also make themselves available if you require assistance.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
My manager is very supportive. We have regular calls on a weekly basis to see how I am progressing and he provides feedback on my performance during the week.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
The training provider is on hand to answer any questions that I may have during the workshops. They also share their email addresses with us so we can contact them with any issues afterwards.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
The qualification is so thorough and relevant to everything I do at WTW - When I started in September, during my first few weeks, I was asking a lot of technical questions to my colleagues to which all the answers were in the textbooks and in the workshops.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
WTW have a lot of extra-curricular activities during and after work hours. Some examples are the Multicultural Inclusion Network and the Young Professionals Network where they have regular conferences during work hours. There are also charity runs and sessions that happen after work which we can get involved in.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend WTW to a friend?
Yes
Why?
WTW is very supportive and open to developing young people become professionals in Insurance.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to WTW?
It's ok to not know anything about Insurance. I had no prior knowledge to the London Market or Insurance brokers but you learn all this and everyone is so supportive!
