Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
Serving customers using a bar service style, pouring drinks and taking food orders, general bar upkeep, restocking
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
I do as its not too high maintenance and its easy to keep up with.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
3/5
Yes ive learnt how the pub runs behind the scenes and other technical skills needed for bar work eg changing kegs, cleaning beer lines, refilling fruit machines etc.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
2/5
It's okay as most of it is online it isn't organised very well and I don't get a lot of support but my tutor is happy that I'm doing well with the course so it may just be me.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
2/5
Not a lot, they expect me to do it in my own time. My assistant manager has offered to help me and she has but my manager doesn't seem interested
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
2/5
As previously stated, he has said that I'm doing well so I'm not worried about my qualifications but my only contact with him is on a once a month virtual call that lasts no longer than an hour so basically I get no support at all, he records me doing a professional discussion, shows me what web links to read for next month and then were done
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
2/5
The learning I have done is somewhat helpful in a broad sense but it is hardly linked to my specialism which is frustrating. I understand I have to learn about the whole industry, but I work in a pub and most of what i have learnt about is silver service and formal dining which is useless knowledge to me because i will never have to apply it in my work. Meanwhile there are no modules at all on working behind a bar! Wrong apprenticeship for me, I think, but if it means i can progress onto a more niche bar qualification then ill be satisfied
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
1/5
no

Would you recommend Greene King to a friend?
Yes
Why?
They give us lots of incentives and bonuses around christmas.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Greene King?
Greene king is a good employer as a whole but it really depends more on the pub you're applying at and the team there.
