Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Its a rotational apprenticeship scheme so every 6 months your roles and responsibilities will change as you move to a different department. The role can vary from managing teams of people, talking to customers, working on large projects and delivering real world solutions to the market.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I really enjoy the programme as everyday is different and there's so much flexibility within EON to choose whichever path you want to go down- If you don't like the placement you are currently on you are free to find a different one to start early. Every team I have worked with are great to work with and its a fun place to be socially.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
By the end of my time here I will have experience in 7/8 completely different departments which I have chosen, and along with it the experience of 7/8 different jobs. I have also done events such as career days, and have done recruitment training to hire internally. I will leave the scheme with a BA in business management and leadership and be a qualified chartered manager

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
The programme is what you make it, you will be finding your own placements (but you are given lots of support with this) and most importantly doing what you want to do. Its not like school where you are given set tasks and expected to do them you will be working on what's best for E.ON what the time.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
Straight away you are given tonnes of apprentice support as well as a business mentor. E.ON has close contacts with the university so there's plenty of support from that side. All the other apprentices where will always happily be on hand to talk and guide you over anything you you want.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
Its not your traditional university experience, your lecturer will always be on hand for any questions and most that I have come across offer 1-to-1 meetings if you need them. You are definitely left more to your own devices, as we only attend university in person once every 10 weeks roughly however this attitude translates over to the real world.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
I have been able to apply learning models from my university coursework's to the work I do within E.ON. It gives you inside to why you do some things a certain way and can help you look at things from a different perspective.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
I have been involved with careers events, and open days at schools and colleges. With the degree apprentices we have social activities after days where we all come together.
