Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
Currently working on a claim project that is out of the original role which is dealing with the new system that is going to be implemented over the next few years. Speaking with various stakeholders across the business and ensuring that the system is fit for purpose in motor whilst providing information around credit hire.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I do enjoy the programme as there is enough support should you require any assist or even extensions. I have moved role, moved house and even have other commitments that have taken up more time out of the programme but have had enough support from Davies Learning Solutions to keep on track.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Yes, whilst on the apprenticeship I have learnt more around topics that I have never reviewed before such as underwriting as part of IF3 (Underwriting process) this is broadening my whole insurance market knowledge which in turn is assisting my personal development whilst on the programme and working on the current project, this will open up numerous opportunities in the future

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
From the training provider the programme is well structured with no issues, in my original role the 20% off the job learning had been 10% so this did have an impact and would have been difficult to maintain the required level to the programme without this being met correctly.
Being on this project has provided the time needed and in some instances been over 20% in order to meet this. However being in the original role would have proved difficult.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
As stated earlier whilst in my original role this support had been lacking at about 10% off the job rather than the 20% stated. However on the current programme outside my current role this support has been much better in some cases exceeding the 20% off the job learning with ease.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
The training provider Davies Learning Solution have been fantastic since day 1 with constant support, training materials, workshops and more. The coach is available should you have any concerns or questions at any point and will respond within a timely manner which in most cases is the next day so you are not left waiting for support.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
The qualification is closely related to my original role but also expands knowledge throughout on the whole insurance market and how this works. This allows me to support the current programme in a more efficient manner whilst learning but also provides the skills to improve any existing process within the business.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
There is social activities such as a sports and social group. This is a small fee to be involved in various events across the year. There is also a wellbeing virtual gym that is free and started during the Covid-19 Pandemic, this allows you to follow a set gym routine to improve your wellbeing.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend RSA Group to a friend?
Yes
Why?
RSA is a good place to work in general. There pension matching and company contribution is quite good, there are various benefits that are available during the end of the year such as childcare vouchers, buying holidays and various discounts that would expect from a company of such a size. There is generally opportunities on the job board to venture into different areas of the business.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to RSA Group?
Just be yourself as you normally would and look to gain experience in as many different areas of the business as you possibly can. There is also apprenticeship opportunities that RSA offer which seem to lead to higher starting level roles once completed and are better suited for progression. The pay is also the same as if you applied directly for a position.
