Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I am a claims handler dealing with new and existing claims I take incoming calls from customers in their time of need we try to deal with each new claim as quickly and efficiently as possible to ensure our customers receive the best service possible I take responsibility for my own claims and manage my personal portfolio to make sure customers receive continuity on he claims
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I have enjoyed learning about a new area I have found it very interesting to learn about other areas of insurance other than claim such as underwriting and how policies are reviewed this is not something that we deal with as part of our role so I found this part of the course very insightful

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learned a great deal about the insurance market I have always worked in a customer service setting but I have learnt a lot about laws and legislation working within this role RSA do regular training with us to ensure we are up to date on any of the latest changes that we need to be aware to undertake our role as a claim shandler

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
the course itself is very easy to follow and progress through each stage there are lots of materials available to help you through each step it is well structured and laid out well each module learns you other things that you need when starting the next part of the course so I feel that it all flows well through each module
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
My employer have been fantastic in terms of support and the recent covid situation just proves how supportive they are they have extended the course to allow me time to complete it due to have to having to work from home due to being isolated at the beginning of lockdown they regularly check in to see how I am doing and to ask if i need any further support [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the Higherin Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] has been amazing
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
initially my training provider were very good but over the last few months I feel as though as I have bee n pushed to one side slightly having changes with tutor and not being updated on this I found especially frustrating previously the support I received was increased around exam times but again the last few months has lacked continuity
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
I feel that doing the apprenticeship has increased my knowledge of the insurance market in general and will go on to help me perform my role on a daily basis as I have a much broader knowledge of what is required and also what other departments do in their role as well I feel this gives us a better understanding
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
we do have a sports and social club which everyone is welcome to join and RSA hold regular have your say meetings where we can join in with the high ranking members of the business to find out what is happening across the business I am not aware of any sports teams
