Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
My day to day role is logging new claims, and also dealing with existing claims when customers have issues or queries. Each claim is different and some are a lot easier than others . It is very important to start a customers claim journey in the right way to avoid any issues down the line.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
As far as the apprenticeship goes, it had been enjoyable. I have enjoyed all the meetings/coaching sessions with my mentor, as well as the virtual workshop that I was a part of, which helped me understand some of the sections of the text book, that were harder to understand.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learnt countless things since joining RSA, not just about insurance, but about customer service, people skills, working an in office environment, working at home. these are things I had little to no experience in before joining RSA. It has helped me grow as a person and an employee.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
RSA are flexible in that I get my allocated time each week for my revision, then If I have any workshops or meetings scheduled, they will usually cater for this. Even when my day to day job is extremely busy, RSA do their best to make sure I get all the time I require
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I have a team leader and a CII coach, that I would feel very comfortable reaching out to if I ever need anything or have any problems. We have a coaching session and a 1 to 1 every month, which is a perfect opportunity to raise any issues or concerns
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
Like the previous question, Davies have been good so far, my coach [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the Higherin Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] always was an email away If I had any issues, and always made sure things were okay in every coaching session. [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the Higherin Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] is no longer my coach, however, my new coach has already been in contact, and arranged a meeting to introduce.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
The text book revision and coaching sessions have made me so much more knowledgeable about insurance as a whole, not just claims, which I belevie gives me an extra advantage in my day to day job, as I can see things form all perspectives, not just the handlers ( customers, brokers and the insurers) perspectives.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
I joined the business in May 2021, unfortunately due to Covid, anything out of work has been very restricted. However, we still managed to go on our team Christmas meal, which was funded by RSA, and it was nice to finally meet some of the team in person, rather than on web chat.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend RSA Group to a friend?
Yes
Why?
As a 19 year old I believe RSA is a great place to work, its friendly, professional and there is so much room for growth and opportunities within the business, whether that's in Halifax, or in another country. Its a great place to gain experience and a qualification at the same time
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to RSA Group?
All I would say to someone applying for a job at RSA, is in the interview, show confidence, and that you would be exited to work at RSA, and show personality, that makes you stand out from other candidates. Answer questions honestly, not just what you think they want to hear
