Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I am a chef, daily it will include cooking, cleaning and communicating with my team. It will start by coming in and setting the kitchen up, prepping where needed, following with a lunch service then dinner service finished with closing the kitchen. We also perform deep cleaning jobs to ensure that the kitchen is kept to high standards.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoyed my programme very much so. Throughout the scheme I realised there's so much more to learn than what I knew and so much more that I still have to learn. I hope to continue this development in my learning as its been the key for my future career.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt new skills throughout my apprenticeship, and developed some that already had. This has taught me so much from improving my knife skills to learning new ways to cook. It's been throughly enjoyable to learn more that I knew already. I wish to develop these skills even further.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The programme is well organised. It's very easy to navigate your way through the online learning that you can do in your own time or with your tutor. By having this information accessible at all times allows to much easier for you to be ready for each session with your tutor.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

My employer has been fantastic support through the course, giving me the time I needed to prepare for certain elements of the course. Also they helped towards improving my knowledge and skills that I needed to develop to continue through the course the rate that I did, improving more and more everyday.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Throughout my apprenticeship I had 3 tutors. All of them had a great level of support for me and my learning and understood if sessions didn't go to plan due to personal reasons. I hope that future ones are just as great as this is an excellent programmes to be apart of.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I feel that ne training provider helped me to perform my role in my work place better now as I have improved and developed my skills and knowledge. With this qualification I have earned I have received a promotion within my work place, which will give me more opportunities for myself in the future.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are extracurricular activities to get involved with for greene king. Especially during the lockdown with online quizzes, and other competitions and events. It's been a great way for everyone go get involved theough the company not just our own business. It's been a joy to be part of.

Greene king is fantastic company to work for. They have great benefits that don't just include 33% off food and drink in all the pubs, there's even discount for your friends and family and much, much more. I have worked in a couple of places in the business and each one had been amazing for making friend and feeling like you're part of a team. There is such great camaraderie that you cannot find in any other industry.
Greene king isn't just great to work for it's great to be a customer, there's always a fantastic atmosphere in each and every business.

Greene king has been a delight to work for and has given me great opportunities to give me a career not just a job.
