Overview of Experience

Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.

Daily tasks included:
- research into new potential developments and the local borough policy relating to such a development.
-Drafting and submitting planning applications via the planning portal
-attending site visits
-attending meetings whether this be in person or zoom
-Networking opportunities with grads
- Workshops whereby you learn more about what the business and the various departments available

What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?

Really enjoyable. There is a range of roles available which all offer great chances for specialising and developing further as you progress in your career.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Yes.
Such skills include further knowledge in terms of planning policy and the importance of understanding how each council has different potential stances and agendas, which need to be met for planning permission to be granted.
Also I have learned more real estate specific skills which are needed within such a trans-sector company such as Savills- such as property valuations

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

Really pleasant and a nice working atmosphere. Everyone is really supportive and willing to help you with any questions you have. A very good work/life balance, looking to incorporate any team bonding social events to help you intergrate further into the team.

To what extent did you enjoy the insight?

I really enjoyed the insight, not only did I learn more about the company and the sectors that they work in but I also met some really nice people there who are genuinely supportive.
