Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

At the moment I’m in college so doing a lot of classroom work. When in workshop I am required to measure, mark out, cut, roll and tack thin sheets of metal by using an engineering drawing.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I am currently really enjoying my programme and an excited to carry on with my apprenticeship

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt a lot of new skills such as how to read engineering drawings, how to accurately mark out and how to use new pieces of machinery.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

I have a good idea of the structure of my apprenticeship and I think it’s going well. However things can be organised a bit better at times such as transferring to sask

I believe I revive a lot of support from my employer. Everyone is always keen to provide me with information or help me when needed.

I believe I am well supported and always receive advice if I was struggling something. They are always there to support me.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Over the past few months I have received a lot of feedback which helps me improve my work throughout my apprenticeship. Therefore I have learnt what to do better and how to improve.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are sports activities to get involved in and also a lot of stem work that you can help with. Along side things such as beach cleans.
