Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
My role as director involves overseeing the companies payroll process as well as the operational and technical side to the business. Operational examples could be things such as implementing new systems and phasing out legacy ones. Introducing and setting up new hardware or working on policy and procedures. I also try to solve any technical problems the team may get to avoid having to escalate to a service support.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
So far the experience has been good. The program has been interesting and informative. I have a heavy work load so there is an added pressure taking this on however the lessons and skills and methods I have picked up so far have kept me interested and excited to learn more.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
It is still early on but so far from the 2 sessions I have taken I have already learnt some great skills and approaches. There are some great self awareness skills I have been introduced to that I want to explore further and develop. These will help me improve my management style.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
The programme seems well structured. There is a lot of information to take in and a lot of material to get my head around however the way it has been presented into bitesize modules makes the digestions of the information manageable. I like the tracking system so I can visually see my progress.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
Our company is a great company that encourages growth and promotes positivity with all its employees. The support I get is great when and if I need it. Being that I am one of the company directors I draw on the support from my colleague who hold similar positions and use them as a platform top sound board ideas, questions or concerns.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
It is still a little early to say how this will turn out however so far support has been ok. Answers to questions I have posed have been answered and I feel should I have anything pressing or questions regarding aspects of the course that I would get the support.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
2/5
As I am just over a month in to the course I cannot say for certain so I have given this a 5 as its neither good or bad. However so far from my limited experience it is a positive one. I do feel that this course will improve my performance but I will need more time to really see the benefits.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
The past couple of years have been a little tough and limited on what we can do as a company socially however as things are opening back up we are planing more company social events. We have a team drinks night this Friday and we have team activity days in the works for the near future.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Paragon Skills to a friend?
Yes
Why?
The course is well structured and well thought out. The teaching staff are passionate, friendly and helpful and its a great company to use if you want to up skill.
Everything is online at the moment due to current restrictions however this hasn't stopped the company providing a solid engaging and inclusive course.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Paragon Skills?
My number 1 tip. GET YOU GSCE CERTIFICATES. I appreciate this is out of Paragon Skills hands however if you don't have them look forward to either paying a lot of money to retrieve them or having to spend many additional hours retaking the grades in order to qualify onto of the course and your busy work schedule.
My second tip is make sure you want to do this. If your unsure do not take it as this is a big commitment. There is extra work expected and like anything if you want to succeed you need to make sure you are 100% committed otherwise you won't do well.
