Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
My role involves completing a technical file review from an allocation of files. I will review the claim from start to finish to make sure that all processes and procedures have been followed and all compliance adhered to. I will record any breaches that i may come across on the file.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I am a parent to two young children so i find the programme is beneficial to me as i am able to fit this as best i can around my work life and also my home life. I am able to complete in a time that is good for me.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have completed my CII exams which has given me a greater understanding of the insurance world / Insurance market and how all the different elements come together. It has expanded my knowledge more from a house hold claims perspective as this is the area that i tend to complete my file reviews in.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
I have found it a little bit slow in the beginning when you first get enrolled but once you get going things seem to move alot more smoothly. I have manage to complete the CII exams and working on my functional skills now. I am allocated a certain amount of time each week to study.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I have received a lot of support from my team leader she makes sure that each week i am allocated my study time and i have the flexibility to take this time when it is suitable for me. I have explained to my mentor that i am focusing on my functional skills and this has been left for me to complete before progressing any further.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I have a six weekly call with my mentor to discuss my current objectives and what i have worked on over the last six weeks. I generally don't hear from my tutor unless it is when we have these calls. I have weekly support at present from a functional skills tutor which is great.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
It has given me a greater understanding of the insurance market and how the world of insurance works, not only in my main area of household claim but also other areas of insurance such as motor / public liability / marine and travel insurance. I have also learnt a lot about consumer rights.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
At RSA they often support several charities each year and we have the opportunity to volunteer at one of these charities each year to completed some work for them. RSA usually hold company events each year in the summer and around the festive period. As a team we often meet up outside of work for social events.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend RSA Group to a friend?
Yes
Why?
It is a great place to work, they look after the staff and this has been more so evident during the COVID 19 pandemic. RSA have invested in its people to help develop their learning and to ensure that most of there staff are able to complete the CII qualification.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to RSA Group?
When i joined i only planned on working here for 6 months however nearly 15 years down the line i am still working for RSA, this company have been so supportive and helpful throughout my career and helped me develop throughout the company to be doing the current role i am today. I would saying RSA have so many opportunities that you can go on to achieve so if you just start out in the call centre thats fine just look at what you would like to achieve and they will help you do it.
