Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
Currently, I manage several IT projects related to security and different technical solutions. My role includes elements such as:
- Stakeholder Management
- Project Planning
- Risk & Issue Management
- Project Governance
- Resource Management
I attend meetings on behalf of my projects and make sure they are delivered into BAU according to time, cost and quality.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I have really enjoyed my programme and learnt a lot! My work was extremely varied, I made great relationships in all the teams I worked in and they were all very welcoming and encouraging of my development. The company culture was warm, inclusive and diverse and everyone I have worked with has been amazing.
Ultimately, my programme really exceeded my expectations.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have been lucky enough to develop a multitude of new skills in project management and achieved:
- My APM Project Management Qualification
- My Level 4 Project Management Higher Apprenticeship
I also became a certified Mental Health First Aider, through MHFA England & complete many trainings internally through our portal as well.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
My induction consisted of a week away at the 'Outward Bound Trust' for Team Building & a week at the 'Telford Innovation Campus' for training. It was extremely organized and I really enjoyed it.
When I joined I was assigned a buddy and a mentor to help me get to grips with my new role & always knew who to go to for support.
Within my apprenticeship training, I had a dedicated Skills Coach and tutors to support my development.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I received a lot of support from my line manager and other mentors within the organization. There always a friendly face to turn to and never a silly question to ask.
While on my apprenticeship scheme, I helped to develop the 'Apprentice Mentoring programme' to add an extra structure to our company specifically tailored towards apprenticeships, which has been incredibly successful and impactful.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
My training provider was good, even though my skills coach did change a couple of times throughout my course. However, there was always someone on hand to offer support.
Our workshop facilitators were always extremely knowledgeable and I felt incredibly supported when going for my APM PMQ exam.
Overall, I really enjoyed my training sessions and skills coach meetings.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
I 100% think my qualifications have made me perform better in my role! The APM PMQ exam was a deep dive into every single aspect of project management condensed into a 3-hour exam.
Although I haven't used all the theory I've learned from my training in my day job yet, I am definitely able to utilize parts of it and it has widened my understanding of my job indefinitely.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
I have been involved in a wide range of extracurricular activities including:
- Being Co-Chair of the Graduate, Intern & Apprentice (GIA) committee, which we have now expanded globally.
- Involvement in the 'Million Makers' fundraising competition for the Prince's Trust.
- Going to socials, specifically for the GIA Community (even a planned holiday - sadly cancelled due to covid)
- And much much more...

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Atos to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I have been given the most amazing opportunities throughout my apprenticeship, worked with the loveliest people and just learnt so much since I joined. In general, the company has an incredible structure that supports its GIA community and believes they are the future of the company - everyone just wants to help you succeed!
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Atos?
My Top Tips would be:
- Make sure you read up on the types of services Atos offers (you don't need to be an expert in tech, but covering the basics will be very helpful).
- Think about what makes YOU unique in preparation for your interview
- Be yourself! Try and enjoy the assessment centre and focus on the tasks you are given.
- Take every opportunity! Always ask for feedback - people genuinely want to help you.
