Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?
When I joined I was assigned a buddy and a mentor to help me get to grips with my new role & always knew who to go to for support.
Within my apprenticeship training, I had a dedicated Skills Coach and tutors to support my development.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
While on my apprenticeship scheme, I helped to develop the 'Apprentice Mentoring programme' to add an extra structure to our company specifically tailored towards apprenticeships, which has been incredibly successful and impactful.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
Our workshop facilitators were always extremely knowledgeable and I felt incredibly supported when going for my APM PMQ exam.
Overall, I really enjoyed my training sessions and skills coach meetings.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
Although I haven't used all the theory I've learned from my training in my day job yet, I am definitely able to utilize parts of it and it has widened my understanding of my job indefinitely.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
- Being Co-Chair of the Graduate, Intern & Apprentice (GIA) committee, which we have now expanded globally.
- Involvement in the 'Million Makers' fundraising competition for the Prince's Trust.
- Going to socials, specifically for the GIA Community (even a planned holiday - sadly cancelled due to covid)
- And much much more...
