Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Part of the new product development team, conducted various lab work or modelling to facilitate these NPD projects. Was also involved in day to day problem solving around issues arising from the production line. Long term project focused on natural gas consumption and carbon dioxide production modelling.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Yes, however this responsibly must be sort after by making it clear you are happy to take on responsibility and are competent to do so.

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
Enhanced previously developed IT skills (Matlab, Excel etc). Process improvement strategies such as Six Sigma. Enhanced appreciation of health and safety. Good overall professional development (communicating with individuals across a business etc).

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
Support and guidance was available from those in the department easily, however, external to the department proved difficult however this may be due to COVID and issues around getting in touch with individuals working remotely.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Friendly atmosphere. From a professional perspective there is the attitude of ‘we have always done this’ so it is difficult to get across new ideas.
