Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
Day to day activities consist of me completing a manufacturing package on the A320-NEO production line. After being assigned the manufacturing serial number (MSN) and the hand (port or starboard wing) I will collect all relevant tooling, materials and documents. After I have completed the package, I have to certify that my work has been completed to Airbus, Aircraft and various engineering standards. This is done by accessing the online portal and stamping the specific processes against my name.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
very much

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Carrying out aircraft detail fitting activities
Installing aircraft mechanical fasteners.
Producing Aircraft detail assemblies.
Working safely in an engineering environment.
Working efficiently & effectively in engineering.
Using & communicating technical Information.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
2/5
Poorly. overall communication is poor a) between managers and apprentices b) managers and business areas. A lot of the time you're left to fend and find information out on your own. Any information provided by early careers is usually provided last minute
How much support do you receive from your employer?
3/5
good amount. Managers are always keen to help with issues, however you can feel like asking anything is causing an inconvinience
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
a good amount. in training at college, i had everything i needed to work. (partly due to my using my own laptop)
lectures and tutors were all very helpful
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
60% of what is learnt is not relevant to the day to day job. However, it opens up to future qualifications so i thought it was worth it.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
2/5
Yes but not alot

Recommendations & Advice

Yes
Why?
good company, good pay, good benefits, low stress, good hours etc
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Airbus?
Work hard and hand in assignments early to avoid any issues. make yourself known for aptitude but not for discipline
